Dr. Marina Kaminetskaya provides neuropsychological evaluations to individuals with actual and/or suspected neurological, medical, and psychiatric disorders. Testing is typically recommended when an individual experiences changes with their memory or thinking abilities. This may be accompanied by changes in a person’s performance at work or school, personality, coordination, and ability to perform general daily tasks at the same ability as before.
A typical neuropsychological evaluation involves the assessment of an individual’s overall intellectual functioning, attention and concentration, learning and memory, language, visuospatial, executive functioning (multi-tasking, problem solving, etc.), processing speed, motor abilities, and mood. Tests will be selected based on the nature of the question/issue that brings the individual in. Evaluations involve an interview portion to obtain a detailed background history followed by working one-on-one with the neuropsychologist on paper-and-pencil tasks, along with some computer-based tasks, to assess different aspects of thinking abilities.
